Summer Looks of the Week

There's nothing more gratifying in fashion than being able to sport something different and vibrant. Speaking of which, the more we progress into the grilling temperatures of August, the more I feel like mixing every single trend that raided my closet this season and simply going wild. Maybe I'm just trying to get my last fix before detoxing for the new season (though I'm sure I won't be that since I recycle trends a lot), but here are a few things I'd like to try before summer ends.

Jacket & Dress by Moschino Cheap & Chic. Lime Patent Leather Bag by Burberry Prorsum. Sandals by Free People. Konad Regular Nail Polish (Hot Pink & Shining Silver).

Blouse by Gryphon. Yellow Portabello Shorts from Barney's. Shoes by Jil Sander. Bag by Moschino Cheap & Chic. Bracelets (Top to Bottom) by Vanessa Arizaga and Fantasy Jewelry Box

Flower Power

I saw pictures of Glee's Lea Michele gracing the cover (and pages) of Harper's Bazaar, and the theme was basically giant florals upon giant florals. Nevertheless, I liked some of the dresses, particularly Lanvin's design. They're all from fall collections.

Moschino Cheap and Chic Floral Dress (am I the only one who think that abomination on her shoulders looks absolutely absurd?)

And last but not least, the celeb favorite Valentino Halter Flower Embellished Dress

Manoush Dresses

Two amazingly colorful dresses by Manoush. I like the fun and flirty vibe they both have. *Drools*

Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti Dress

Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti...Is praise really needed here?
This captivating and colorful dress from the S/S 11 collection, which I like to call "dragon" dress, is just one of the few reasons Philosophy is highly adored. A favorite indeed.

Shirtdress? YES!

It's my favorite hassle-free summer outfit - placed higher than even maxis, the quintessence of comfy summer garbs, on my list. It's not just comfortable and chic (obviously), but also fit for almost any occasion  (queue in the accessories and shoes). It gives me a chance to pull out some of my uber-awesome leggings from their dreadful closet slumber, too!

I've noticed that ASOS has an absolutely cool and versatile collection of shirtdresses, therefore you'll probably notice an ASOS overload.

Prada Printed Dresses

This particular dress was circulating round the fashion circuit and celebs seem to be very fond of it as well. Stripes and prints with tons of attitude and even more glam.

BUT...
The dress I'm looking for is a similar sleeved orange stripes/prints combo Prada dress.

Free People August Lookbook!

There's a reason Free People is one of my favorite brands. They're designs are sometimes so whimsical and spontaneous that it's enjoyable to wear. Anyway, here's a look at Free People's August Lookbook. Modeled by Marloes Horst and Darla Baker, the shoot captures that hippie-retro vibe complete with festive 70s glam.

Summery Anklet Sandals

I completely adore these anklet sandals, very beach-ready and fun to wear. I also liked the idea matching the detail with toenails in every color of the neon rainbow. Now if I could just find them...
But for the meantime, better settle for something similar, like this Pewter Metallic Beaded Sandals by Steve Madden. Doesn't look half as fun as the one above, but some colorful anklets might do the trick.
And if that's out of question, I think I might resort to some DIY with my own twist. Ethnic anklets with cowry shells or colorful beads and some chain anklets paired with sand-colored flip flops.
Also drooling over:
These Bali Soles Flip Flops by Michelle Roy. I'm not sure if they'd be very comfortable to wear, but they sure look nice. And last but not least:
The too-much-hassle and very festive Romana Fest Sandals from Free People.

Abaya Accessories: Shoes

I believe Abayas require luxurious and ethnic accessories that enhance that sense of Arabian charm. This week, we're taking on shoes.
Black is key, but it doesn't have to be very basic. However, polished designs and lace details are the most favorable options.
